Code Of Conduct
This code sets out the principles and behaviour expected of Members participating in FreeMate transactions.
Basic Principles: Members must at all times:
- Conduct themselves honestly and in good faith
- Comply with all laws, including sale of goods and intellectual property laws
- Comply with FreeMate's Terms and Conditions as published on it's website
Sellers must:
- Describe items fully and accurately
- Ensure that goods are sold free of any security interest
- In the case of an auction, not attemp to influence the bidding process by directly or through an agent, bidding to drive up the sale price, or in any other way
- Answer questions promptly
- Respond to emails promptly and in all cases within two working days
- Ensure items are shipped promptly and in all cases within one week of receipt of payment
- Charge fair and reasonable amounts for shipping and wherever possible state shipping costs in listings
- Not place negative feedback without endeavouring to ensure factual accuracy and to resolve any issues by email first
- Not engage in feedback of a retaliatory, defamatory or rude nature
- Not spam or in any way harass previous buyers
Buyers must:
- Respond to emails promptly and in all cases within two working days
- Pay for goods purchased promptly and in all cases, within one week of receipt of payment details
- Not place negative feedback without endeavouring to ensure factual accuracy and to resolve any issues by email first
- Not engage in feedback of a retaliatory, defamatory or rude nature
- Not spam or in any way harass previous sellers
Professional traders must:
- Comply with all relevant laws, including the State Fair Trading Acts and the Competition and Consumer Act 2010
- Ensure goods are safe, of acceptable quality, and fit for the purposes intended and draw attention to any defects
- Act responsibly and promptly fix any product faults for which it is liable or offer a replacement or refund
